As we spend the bulk of our lives indoors right now, as families, our attention turns to keeping our kids occupied and wondering how much time is too much device-time?

For the kids of ‘yesteryear’, childhood was simpler. The ‘kids’ who grew up in the Britannia communities knew how to make their own fun. For the kids in the ‘Townsite’ (Mount Sheer), higher on the mountain, when snow could keep them indoors for days at a time, reading books and the radio were popular.

In honour of these simpler times, we have created Britannia Bingo. With a selection of activities that reflect activities families and kids would have done to pass the time, perhaps they can get your kids off a device and get a glimpse of the childhoods of our grandparents.
